For those in L.A. looking for something new to do on a weekend -

MOCA is currently running their Night Vision event every Saturday night for the summer. It’s free with $8 admission to the museum, and they have music, screenings, a bar, and cool art workshops like making a button pin with your own design from cut-up paper currency. Fake, of course!

I really enjoyed their current exhibition, Poetics of the Handmade. The individually carved lipsticks - all 2,200 of them - by Chilean artist Livia Marin are truly a must-see in person:

Chicadecanela was kind enough to link to me last month, and I’m glad they did, otherwise I wouldn’t have found out about all the cute handcrafted goodies sold on the site. Just darling!

These are amazing. The photos are the details of ternos up close, which were designed by the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines. (The terno is the national costume of the Philippines.) Click on the link to see these dresses in full frame.

I have yet to visit this Studio City lingerie boutique - they were one of my first must-visit finds on Your LA - but I found out they have an online shop AND a blog, which they were nice enough to link me on. What a coincidence!

They currently have lots of pretty underthings on sale on their site. I like these newspaper print pieces from John Galliano:

I’m not going to lie. I watched “Search for the Next Doll” and loved it. I loved all the outfits that the girls wore for the performances. Within context of course. Even with an awesome body, you couldn’t wear these anywhere else. Unless you like being asked, “How much?”

Australia’s Lover goes poolside! Their swimsuits look so comfy and wearable, yet with all the fun details that they’re known and loved for.

Those Versace resort pieces also remind me of the artistically shot photographs of smoke found on the Artsmoke community. Like this darling shot:

Back from vacation, only to be so busy! I am still dreaming of being in Hawaii (especially when I get 3 new projects in one week), and found this particular pink and beige-bronze color combination from Versace’s 2008 Resort Collection so arresting. And the flowery, flowing images - they remind me of colored ink dropping into water. What a sophisticated and sleek way of dressing for summer, no?

Can you believe it’s June already? I’ll be on vacation for a week or so, and after that, I plan to start moving things around on the site. More updates on this later.
