Can you believe it’s June already? I’ll be on vacation for a week or so, and after that, I plan to start moving things around on the site. More updates on this later.
In the meantime, here’s a look I’m really feeling for summer - posy pink cheeks and lips complimented by green eyeshadow:

I love the vibrant crayola colors and high-fashion promos from MAC, and the girly-girl packaging of lines like Bloom and Anna Sui, and the innovative & humorous products coming from Benefit. But I still find myself returning to the classic, no-fuss, simplicity of Clinique time after time. Their colors are so universally wearable but not boring, and plenty of sensitive skin types can count on them for breakout-free cosmetics.
Lately they’ve been stepping it up while still staying true to their minimal look, with Apple-like clean white packaging for their latest collection, Fresh Bloom. Clinique Happy gets sweeter and softer with a limited edition, and how beautiful is their Allover Colour blush?
I also love how they organize their cosmetics by skintone, or between tawnies, nudes, pinks, or violets. I’m mainly an online shopper, and this helps tons when you don’t have time to check stuff out in person.

Like many of the clothes from Paul & Joe, I am seriously in love with the packaging for their cosmetics line, Paul & Joe Beaute. It is absolutely divine! I especially love the gorgeous floral pattern and print on what looks to be a perforated box.

Love that we are starting to see a steady stream of earth-friendly products hitting beauty counters. Especially when their packaging is also both cute and multi-purpose, like Cargo’s new PlantLove Botanical Lipsticks.

The compostable lipstick tube is made out of corn and emits less greenhouse gases; the outer carton is made of flower paper embedded with real flower seeds that you can plant later on. CARGO also donates two dollars from the sale of every lipstick to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Nifty! I checked these out at Sephora the other day and unfortunately didn’t find any colors that suited me. But I hope this is a sign of things to come from the beauty industry.

MAC recently sent me a postcard promoting their latest collection, Barbie Loves MAC, and I absolutely love the photographs. Though most of the colors are too, uhhh, Barbie doll for me (not to mention a few of the products are already sold out), the concept is awesome and MAC couldn’t have done a better job. Why didn’t anyone think of this before? They managed to capture the Barbie look in a sophisticated and high-fashion way while staying true to our girlhood icon.

The postcard I received is a full version of the bottom one. I love it! It’s currently the first item to decorate my desk.
