I posted about the Madras Collection from APC earlier. Here are more colorful madras options. Hopefully not worn all together:

1. Jessica Simpson Jada Pump
2. Isaac Mizrahi for Target Sundress - tried this dress on and it’s so pretty! Although I had about a foot of fabric that I’d have liked to hem off
3. Lacoste Roll-Up Shorts
4. Xhilaration Sable Ballerina Flats

I’m not going to lie, I love stripes. Even horizontal ones. But apparently they are somewhat of a fashion don’t. I would hope these color block tops and dresses from the Rajo line of House of Laurel are more fashion friendly, because they sure are cute.

Children’s clothes aren’t my thing, but their girls’ dresses from their Rajito line are charming without being cutesy:

I love the vintage 60s styling of Princesse Tam-Tam’s current swimwear collection:

I really gravitate towards the style of Armour sans Anguish. It’s a little bit of everything - punk, pretty, vintage, and modern wrapped up into one completely original piece. And how fantastic is that name too?

These are amazing. The photos are the details of ternos up close, which were designed by the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines. (The terno is the national costume of the Philippines.) Click on the link to see these dresses in full frame.

I’m not going to lie. I watched “Search for the Next Doll” and loved it. I loved all the outfits that the girls wore for the performances. Within context of course. Even with an awesome body, you couldn’t wear these anywhere else. Unless you like being asked, “How much?”

Back from vacation, only to be so busy! I am still dreaming of being in Hawaii (especially when I get 3 new projects in one week), and found this particular pink and beige-bronze color combination from Versace’s 2008 Resort Collection so arresting. And the flowery, flowing images - they remind me of colored ink dropping into water. What a sophisticated and sleek way of dressing for summer, no?

I love the wedding ensembles Net-a-Porter recently put together in their Wedding Belles feature. They suggest gorgeous outfits for classic, evening, and beach weddings for both the bride and guest. The Silk Lion dress from Temperley is so striking, and that peach Cavalli dress for an evening wedding is to die for!

I realize the touristy cheesiness of wearing anything remotely island-inspired in Hawaii, but who can help it when dresses look this cute!

Proenza Schouler Palm Print Gauze Dress; Ginger & Smart St. Bart’s Dress; Elissa Coleman Exclusive Ace Palm Dress
I bought the one from Proenza Schouler when it was still in Target stores. It’s ready to go!

I’m counting the days until I can finally use these (in Hawaii!) - long-time coveted Waldo Bikinis from Ella Moss. I loved these so much, I bought them both, one in coral, and one in peacock.

Of course, Ella Moss is appropriate any time of the year here in L.A. Stylish, comfortable, and not too trendy. Pamela Protzel sure knows how to dress us Angelenos.

I want to stock my closet full of dresses from Plastic Island to wear the whole summer. So understated and easy, with the right bit of color and detail to keep it interesting.

I thought I should start to feature some of my favorite fashionistas, one being Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. I’ve watched her she was just a teenager in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and a couple of years ago starred in “Memoirs of a Geisha”, based on one of my favorite books. She’s always had an understated but unparalleled beauty that combines classic elegance and fresh innocence.
I love how she manages to pull off bright, bold colors, or unexpected clothing choices - like a lime green Armani or a frothy Oscar de la Renta dress - while still managing to look completely flawless and graceful.

She seems to be a favorite of Giorgio Armani and vice versa - he custom-made this gown that she wore to last year’s Venice Film Festival.

I am clearly all about prints and patterns lately. Speaking as a graphic designer, I really love the spring collection from Matthew Williamson. So much color and pattern that surprisingly flows from one piece to another. The dress on the left first caught my eye, appropriately called the “Graphic Design Silk Dress” by Satine. I love intricate pattern work that looks so soft and subtle from far away.

I also love these kimono-like prints of lotus and lilypads and bamboo, and especially the fuchsia and blue color combination.

These super-coral pieces are kinda hit-or-miss, but I think they’re still interesting to look at.

And two of my favorite pieces up close:

I just got the new Free People catalog in the mail, and it’s gorgeous!! So many vibrant and colorful Asian-inspired prints and patterns. Their catalog is always so well-designed and full of pretty clothes, but I think this one is my favorite yet.

I love these - Locher’s sweet and simple blouses detailed with dainty floral embroidery on the sleeve or hem, that up close, have unexpected and saucy little sayings like “I Love Porn” and “No Time To Fuck”. Oh my! Her darling and delicate pendants are just as sassy. [Via fabulous new read Clothes-Pin]

More stripes from Sonia Rykiel, this time in punchy colors and bold graphic blocks. Nice change from all the floral stuff right?
