These images are from the vintage-loving styling duo Maude. They have quite the body of work, from fashion magazines to CD covers.

This is my favorite color combination of the moment - light grey and pink, especially on these lovely lady-like pieces from Jill Stuart. This particular shade of grey is such a fresh neutral and perfect for spring.

Pink is probably THE color for this spring, but less is definitely more in last spring’s collection from Elie Saab. I love the pretty pink corsages adorning the feminine, flowy pieces in light neutrals.

These modern gypsy pieces from Binetti’s spring 2007 collection are so much fun without being frivolous. I also love labels that offer a range of products - from clothes to bags and jewelry - that you can create a whole outfit from without being too matchy-matchy or looking like a label whore.

This is probably not a look I’d sport myself - I went to Catholic school, it would look like I’m reliving my past a little too well - but it’s cute with the right bit of sassiness. First it was Kirsten Dunst’s powder blue pair in Marie Antoinette:

And now these looks from ViVi & Lula:

So word on blog street a couple of weeks ago was that Libertine is the next GO designer for Target. Be still my heart! I fell in love with their Victorian-punk rock aesthetic and dresses collaged and silk-screened with 19th-century graphics from last spring:

Target has already released images of the collection, which are not as cool, but I’ll be checking them out anyway.

Indian fashion designer Surily Goel and her lovely dresses were featured in this month’s ELLE. Oddly enough I-Dressup was the only site that I could find with an extensive set of images from her current collection. Aren’t her dresses adorable though?

I’m really loving apron dresses and tops right now. I’ve always wondered how anyone can cook in a super-cute - and possibly super-EXPENSIVE - apron. Isn’t the whole point of one to let it get messy so the clothes underneath don’t? Actually, what do I know, it’s not like I cook or anything..
These apron tops from Camp are too precious. Reconstructed from vintage 1950s aprons! Love love love.

Excuse the crappy photos, but these were shot last night at Cosa Nostra’s fashion show for Eternal Embrace, the Autumn/Winter 2007 Collection. For whatever reason I found myself at the very end of the first runway, right next to the press. It pays to not be VIP, I guess. (Which was probably a mere 25% of us regular folk.)
I love that last season’s Project Runway winner, Jeffrey Sebelia, is a fellow Angeleno, and I love his clothes even more!!! Lots of gorgeous, gorgeous dresses, and also plenty of everyday wear in black and gray and perfect for the Eastside.

Better photos from LA Weekly. I swear they look 100 times better in person.

All the hot fashion designers seem to be coming out of Australia lately - Lover, Tsubi/Ksubi, and now Alice McCall. Her collections have that vintage-inspired, casual playclothes look.

I love this ad for Anna Sui’s new perfume, Secret Wish Magic Romance. The design is nothing exceptional, but it’s so fun and pretty to look at and doesn’t take itself too seriously, pretty much like Anna Sui’s overall style. The model is Anne Watanabe, daughter of Ken Watanabe who played the Chairman in “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Gorgeous girl!

The website is super-cute too!

I’ve been hearing good things about her shoes, so I decided to check out her site for more info. Her current offerings include simple but feminine tops and dresses, with origami-like prints and sailor-inspired details that remind me of anime cartoons, in an oh-so-very covetable way. And how gorgeous is this bag?

More floral frocks for Spring 2007 - although these are more runway works of art than wearable pieces for everyday folk like me.

from Zac Posen and Rodarte, both Spring 2007

It was seriously over 90 around L.A. this weekend. Shorts weather! Right now I’m into longer mid-thigh lengths or slightly roomy rolled-up cuffs. Details like pinstripes and cute buttons are also a plus.

Johnson Millicent shorts in red wool pinstripe and cherry tree brocade. I love how the menswear-inspired tailoring brings structure to a summer staple.

Delia’s Lindsey Roll-up Shorts - the shorts on its own looked a bit bright to me, but the model’s rocking it with a white top and her tanned complexion.

For just a hint of pink and a goes-with-everything charcoal color, pinstripe shorts from Forever 21. Or plaid ones, which I LOVE.

Sunny days call for floral, spring-ready pieces like these. I love the detailing on the hem- and necklines.

I love clothes and accessories with crocheted or embroidered details, even more than I like actually crocheting and embroidering things myself. These pieces are so perfect for hanging out on a summer weekend. It was over 80 today, so summer is clearly not too far away.

Piazza Tank and Nectar Halter Dress, both from Anthropologie.

Count on Free People for their creative and charming handcrafted details, like on this laptop case. And how cute is this Needlepoint Ring from Anthropologie?
